Enercon Sponsors Tournament of Champions
East Peoria, IL – Enercon Engineering, a leading provider of power generation solutions and controls, is proud to announce its participation as a Gold Sponsor for the 19th Annual Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions. The tournament, held from November 26-30 at Washington Community High School, will bring together top high school basketball teams from across the nation for an exciting competition that also serves a greater cause – supporting cancer research.
As part of Enercon’s Gold Sponsorship, they will present the “Power-Up Timeouts” during each game. Fans can also look forward to t-shirt give-a-ways at the Enercon booth during select games featuring local schools, ensuring an exciting and interactive experience for attendees.
This sponsorship is especially significant for Enercon Engineering as the company approaches its 50-year anniversary in 2025. For nearly five decades, Enercon has been an integral part of the Greater Peoria area communities, supporting local events and initiatives that contribute to the well-being of its residents.
“We are honored to support this incredible tournament,” said Larry Tangel, CEO of Enercon Engineering. “As a big basketball fan and a cancer survivor, any effort to fund research and find a cure for this devastating disease is something close to my heart. Enercon is committed to supporting our community, and we are proud to stand behind the Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions.”
Enercon's continued community involvement reflects the company’s core values of teamwork, excellence, and commitment, which align perfectly with the tournament’s mission to inspire young athletes while making a positive impact through fundraising for cancer research.
Eric Schermerhorn, Head Coach of Washington Community High School Basketball, added, “We’re thrilled to have Enercon Engineering as a Gold Sponsor this year. Their support allows us to continue growing the tournament, and it’s incredible to see a company with such strong roots in our community be part of this meaningful event.”
Jake Weston, of Jake Weston State - Farm Insurance Agency, another key tournament organizer, also expressed his gratitude: “Enercon Engineering’s sponsorship is invaluable. The funds raised from this tournament go directly to supporting cancer research, and Enercon’s involvement ensures we can make a significant contribution this year.”
The Kevin Brown Memorial Tournament of Champions honors the legacy of Kevin Brown, a former Washington Community High School basketball coach who passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. The tournament has raised over $750,000 over the years for cancer research, and this year promises to be another success with the backing of community leaders and businesses like Enercon Engineering.
