EAST PEORIA, Ill., Feb. 19, 2026 — Enercon Engineering, Inc., a leading manufacturer of custom generator enclosures and switchgear for mission-critical applications, today announced it has signed a definitive agreement to be acquired by Generac Holdings Inc. (NYSE: GNRC), a global leader in energy technology solutions and power products.

For Enercon, this milestone represents more than a transaction — it marks the beginning of a new chapter designed to accelerate growth, expand capabilities, and strengthen the company’s long-term presence in Central Illinois.

Founded in 1975 in East Peoria, Enercon has spent 50 years building a reputation for engineering-driven solutions in complex and high-reliability environments. The company’s more than 120 employees operate out of a 160,000-square-foot manufacturing facility serving customers across data center, industrial, utility, and defense markets.

By joining Generac, Enercon gains the financial strength, operational scale, and market access needed to expand manufacturing capacity, pursue larger opportunities in the rapidly growing data center market, and further enhance its switchgear and power distribution offerings.

Global demand for data center infrastructure is expected to more than triple by 2030, driving significant need for reliable backup power and advanced power distribution systems. Generac’s established Commercial & Industrial platform and recent investments in manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin complement Enercon’s engineering expertise and specialized enclosure and switchgear capabilities.

Upon closing, Enercon will operate as “Enercon, a Generac company” within Generac’s Domestic Commercial & Industrial Business Group. The current leadership team will continue to lead the business from East Peoria.
